Abstract

In recent years, the potassium content in tobacco from Sichuan tobacco planting area decreased year by year, so the experiments had been conducted to study the effects of different potassium fertilizer rates and potassium application methods on tobacco quality in Huili County, Liangshan City, Sichuan Province in 2013. The results showed that when the treatment applied with 300 kg/hm2 of potassium fertilizer, the chemical components were moderate and the potassium content was relatively high in tobacco leaves; when continuesly increased potassium fertilizer rate, the potassium content in tobacco leaves increased little, but the coordination among chemical components decreased; when using the method that using 1/3 potassium fertilizer as base fertilizer, 1/3 potassium fertilizer as toppdressing applied at 25 d after transplanting, and 1/3 potassium fertilizer as toppdressing applied at 50 d after transplanting, the potassium content was relatively high and quality of tobacco leaves was relatively good; the tobacco yield among different treatments had no obvious difference.
