Abstract
Using potted plant, alfalfa seeds were immersed in 5 , 10, 20, 30, 50 mmol·L-1 CaCl2 for 16 h, study the effects of calcium on drought resisting of alfalfa under drought stress. The results showed that calcium could increased the containing water of alfalfa leaf, alleviated membrane penetration, enhance the power of root vitality and peroxide enzyme, increased accumulation of proline, especially 5-20 mmol·L-1 CaCl2 had better effect. These results indicated calcium could decreased the damage of drought stress on plant, increased sop water of root and keep water of leaf, further more increased the drought resisting of alfalfa.
