A Comparative Study of Economic Competitiveness Between Henan and Guangdong,Shandong,Jiangsu and Zhejiang Provinces

The overall economic competitiveness is defined as the attractiveness of the resources in the region or surrounding areas,or the competitiveness for markets,the radiating power and the driving force of a country or a region.Compared the overall economic competitiveness with those of Guangdong,Shandong,Jiangsu,Zhejiang Provinces,Henan is obviously lagging behind.The gap is mainly reflected in the economic structure;three process of industrialization,urbanization and marketization;independent innovation ability;environment creation;degree of open-up to the outside world and government′s roles,etc.This paper holds that the emphasis to enhance competitiveness of the Henan Province should be given to optimize the industrial structure,speed up the urban development,improve the level of the opening-up;implement the policy of rejuvenating Henan through science and education;build up a development environment;deepen the fiscal and financial reform;integrate and optimize the regional resources and to implement the government projects,etc.
