Abstract

Landslide is one of the most serious geological hazards in the Three Gorges reservoir regions.Since the reservoir was in operation in 2003,both reservoir water level descending and rainstorm infiltration have become major factors that affect the stability of landslides. This paper takes Three Gorges reservoir landslide-Xietan Landslide in ancient times for example, according to the options of water level operation, analyzes landslide stability by using Limited Equilibrium Method, the results of stability analysis show that during water table ascent period, slope is stabe and during water table descent period, safety coefficient is low and landslide is in the situation of limited equilibrium.
