Research Progress in Toughening and Reinforcing Mechanism of Polymers

Abstract
Toughening and reinforcing mechanism of polymers,including elastomer toughening mechanism, non-elastomer toughening and reinforcing mechanism, and self toughening and reinforcing mechanism is reviewed. Some recent quantitative models used to assess the mechanics behavior of the composites in microstructure and important factors of those models are analyzed as well.Consequently, the emphasis and orientation of research on toughening and reinforcing of polymers in the future are put forward.
