Abstract

The origination and branches of gastric arteries and the tributaries and return of gastric veins of the Chroysolophus pictus are studied by means of arterial casting and specimen clearing method. The results show that the gastric arteries of the Chroysolophus pictus come from the celiac artery. The glandular ventrilus is supplied by the dorsal and ventral proventricular arteries, the former directly originating from the left side of the coeliac artery, the latter coming from the left branch of the coeliac artery. The veins of the glandular ventriculus are joined by the cranial and caudal proventricular veins which drains into left vena cava vein and left hepatic portal vein respectively. The muscular ventriculus is supplied by the left gastric artery that come from the left branch of the celiac artery, the right gastric artery that come from the right branch of the celiac artery and the dorsal gastric artery that come from the branches of dorsal proventricular artery. There are three main veins on the surface of the muscular ventriculus, which are the right gastric vein that drains into the right hepatic portal vein, the left and ventral gastric veins that drains into the left hepatic portal vein.In additon,it is short of the anastomoses among the arterial trunks on the gastric surface.
