Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effect of vitrectomy combined with anti-glaucoma operations on neovascular glaucoma. Methods 24 patients with neovascular glaucoma, including 10 cases of diabetic retinopathy (40%), 8 cases of retinal vein occlusion (30%), 5 cases of Eales disease(20%), were all operated through vitrectomy with trabeculectomy and photocoagulation. All these patients were followed up for 6 to 18 months. Results The intraocular pressure(IOP) of 17 cases were controlled down to normal and the average postoperative IOP decreased(16.00±4.81)mmHg. Postoperative visual acuity increased in 8 cases, unchanged in 10 cases, and the percent of effect was 71%. Conclusions Vitrectomy with other anti-glaucoma operations is one of the safe and effective procedure in reasonable control of IOP.
