County-Level Economic Disparities in Shanxi Province Based on Spatial Analysis

In order to explore the spatial pattern of county-level economic development in Shanxi province,in this paper,classical statistical methods such as coefficient of variation(Cv) ,Theil index,Average economic growth index,and spatial statistical methods such as Moran′s I index were used to calculate and measurement the spatial agglomeration degree,the per capita GDP growth index and the spatial concentration of the geographical distribution from both global and local perspective about county-level economic development of the year from 2001 to 2007 in Shanxi province. The results showed that:1) Shanxi county-level economy has shown relatively significant spatial agglomeration phenomenon with a clear spatial dependence,and spatial differences in regional economic growth is relatively obvious;2) the county-level economic growth pattern had a certain stability in different years;3) the economic development model of Shanxi province can be divided into 4 types:centralized,strong nesting,weak nested and poverty-concentrated.
