Abstract
Objective: To explore the pathogenesis and mechanism of pityriasis rosea (PR) by detecting the expression of VCAM-1 and ICAM-1 in the epidermis of the patients. Methods: To detect the expression level of VCAM-1 and ICAM-1 in PR lesion by immunohistochemical SP method. Results: The expression level of VCAM-1 on the basal layer, the spinous layer in the epidermis of PR lesions was higher than that in the adjacent normal skin and the normal skin respectively. The expression level of VCAM-1 on the spinous layer in the adjacent normal skin was higher than that in the normal skin. The expression level of ICAM-1 on the basal layer in the PR lesions and in the adjacent normal skin was higher than that in the normal skin. The expression level of ICAM-1 on the spinous layer in the PR lesions was higher than that in the normal skin and in the adjacent normal skin. Conclusions: The high expression level of ICAM-1 and VCAM-1 in PR lesions may play a role in the immune reaction of PR.
