Abstract
Congestion pricing, an important element of TDM ( Transportation Demand Management), has been key content of traffic economics. This paper reviews the history and late studies of congestion pricing theory, points out the research directions, analyzes the application effects in practice,puts forward advices of pushing congestion pricing policy in China. The practice of congestion pricing indicates that the policy is very effective in controlling traffic flow, and the key to make congestion pricing more feasible is how to gain public support, which will be the basic and difficulty of pushing the policy in large and medium cities of China.
