Abstract

The commit processing model in the distributed real-time transactions is investigated in detail. The inadequacies in the traditional distributed commit processing protocols are described. A new distributed commit processing protocol, PROMT, specifically designed for the real-time domain is given. To improve the performance of the commit processing a new design incorporating the IPC protocol with the PROMPT is presented. The impact of this optimization on the commit processing in the distributed real-time transactions is analyzed.
