Abstract
HAN Yu in Tang Dynasty was the precursor of NeoConfucianism, who had made great efforts for revival of Confucianism. He probed into the development of Confucianism from two aspects: on the one hand he denounced the fallacy of Buddhism and Taoism; On the other hand he endeavored to renewal Confucianism advocating inner to be saint and outer to be emperor to solve some practical problems. It was HAN Yu's main contribution that offered the thinking method for the progression of Confucianism in late ages, not perfectly explained concrete theory of Confucianism
