The explorations on the construction of the category of ×× and its function show that zu is widely used as an affixoid in modern Chinese and that this phenomenon is the result of grammaticalization.The structure of ×× has become a meme in the using and spreading process.It is one of the forms in which linguistic memes are used at word level.
