Abstract
Productive is one of the kernel concepts in Marxism theory, but there still exist disputations today. Back to the Karl Marx's work, this paper gives a textual research on productive force and points out that productive force is the generalization of the level of human productive activities, including material-production activities and spirit-production activities. It is represented by the productivity of labor, the efficiency of work distribution and cooperation, the efficiency of the nature utilization, and the level of human thinking etc.. It is materialized into the products. So, Productive is merely an attribute category, and it can be objectized in human historical activities and therefore can become a cross-over point for cognition. Not only can the tool of production (the material carrier) signal the level of productive forces, but the relations of production can also signal some given level of productive forces.
