Treament of Upper Urinary Tract Calculi with Mini-percutaneous Nephrolithotripsy

Objective To evaluate the curative effects of renal or upper urinary tract calculi by mini-percutaneous nephrolithotripsy(mini-PCNL).Methods Percutaneous nephrostomy under ultrasonography was performed.The tracts were dilated to 14 or 18F.Through theses tracts,stones were broken into small pieces by pneumatic lithotriptor and then removed by ureteroscope.It will facilitate the drainage of kidney stone,the antiphlogosis and the comeback of the renal function if Shenshu granule can be used after treatment.Results Among the 26 cases,the stones in 17 cases were cleared off at 1st session,4 cases at 2nd session after one week and 5 cases were cured by ESWL or soft cystoscope after PCNL.Conclusions PCNL is believed to be a minimal invasive and good effective method for the treatment of renal or upper urinary tract calculi.The result would be better if PCNL combined with ESWL.
