Abstract
Objective To analyze the mammography features of benign and malignant breast lesions.Materials and Methods The mammography features of 105 breast cancers and 74 benign lesions were retrospectively analyzed. The diagnosing standards of calcification and soft tissue in benign and malignant lesions were established. The lesions were divided into 5 types, including affirmative malignant, possible malignant, indeterminate, possible benign, affirmative benign, according to diagnosing standards.Three doctors performed the diagnosis with blind method. The imaging results were compared with histopathologic resultes, the golden-standard,and true positive and true negative rates were calculated. The sensitivity and specificity were observed with ROC curve. Results The average diagnosis results gained from three doctors according to standards were 86,22,22.3,11.3,36.3 cases in every type. One case and 0.3 case were miss-diagnosed in affirmative malignant and affirmative benign type.Seven and 1 cases were miss-diagnosed in possible malignant and possible benign type. The true positive rate was 80% and true negative rate was 99%.The sensitivity and specificity were high in ROC curve. Conclusions X-ray mammography features of calcification and soft tissue have values for diagnosing benign and malignant lesions of breast. When X findings are not sure of benign or malignant, further examination should be need for final diagnosis.
