Abstract
Using VISSIM software, the paper simulates low-speed trucks mixed with different rates in dif.ferent traffic flow situation on straight and curved sections of road, introduces the concept of speed differ.ence to analyze the impact of low speed trucks mixing rate on small cars. The result shows that with the in.crease of traffic volume and rate of mixing trucks, the speed of small cars significantly changes and eventu.ally approaches truck speed. Compared with the straight sections, impact of low-speed trucks on small cars in curves road is more obvious. With the increase of the rate of mixing trucks, the speed difference be.tween the two models is gradually reduced to 10km/h or less, it is the illusion of traffic saturation point, the conclusions of this study may provide a basis for improving road capacity design.
