Abstract
Wind power energy is intermittent,random and unpredictable.So,the large scale connection of wind farms with power grid will cause great impact on grid.Energy storage devices have advantages such as flexibility,charging and discharging ability and compatibility.The joint operation of energy storage with renewable energy brings an effective solution to large scale use of renewable energy which is combined to the grid,such as wind power generation.This paper summarizes the application of energy storage in power system including wind farms.It introduces the current situation of the development of energy storage devices and their characteristics and application scope based on the classification of the energy storage devices.Finally,the trend of energy storage study is discussed.
