Analysis on Construction Difficulties of High Slope Excavation at Intake of Underground Powerhouse at Xiangjiaba Hydropower Station

Located in the right bank of lower reach of Jinsha River at juncture of Sichuan province and Yunnan province,the intake slope of Xiangjiaba hydropower station on Jinsha River is 1.55 km downstream from Fushui county of Yunnan province.Surrounding environment of slope excavation area is complicated.Installation of precise instruments of electrical equipment are carried out for concrete mixing system at elevation 380m during construction.A local road(access road)runs across construction area.35 kV substation supplying construction power is only 120m away from excavation area.Foot of slope is adjacent to Jinsha River channel which has function of navigation.Therefore,slope excavation construction is significantly affected by such complicated conditions.However,construction of intake high slope has been completed in time and with high quality due to overall consideration,proper arrangement and careful construction provided by the Xiangjiaba Construction Bureau.
