Value of Different Scoring Systems in Acute Pancreatitis

Objective:To evaluate the prognostic ability of three different scoring systems,and the relations between complications,the days in hospital and scoring systems.Methods: A total of 168 patients with acute severe pancreatitis,who were admitted in Jinshan Hospital from September 2004 to December 2009,were studies retrospectively.Data periment to three scoring systems were recorded(APACHEⅡ,Ranson scores and Balthazar computed tomograghy severity index).The sensitivity and specifity of deferent scoring systems were compared.Statistical analysis was perfomed by using receiver operating characteristic curves for evaluate the reliability of forecasting the seriousity and complications.The relationship between deferent scoring systems and the days in hospital were studied.Results: Ranson score was supier in prediction the severity of acute pancreatitis.;APACHEⅡscore was supier in prediction the complications;CT score and APACHEⅡscore(8)was supier in prediction the days in hospital.Conclusions: The prognostic ability of deffetent scoring systems was not same.They all should be combined to predict the severity of acute pancreatitis.
