Abstract
Objective To build and investigate the chronic infections of duck hepatitis B virus resistant to lamivudine.Methods Ducklings were infected with DHBV wild and its lamivudine-resistant strain.Serial serum viral loads were quantified during 70 days observation;Intrahepatic DHBV DNA and cccDNA were detected by Southern blot and histological changes were evaluated.Results The viral loads and persistent infection rate of wild-type group was greater than resistant.Expected DHBV replicative intermediates including cccDNA and mild inflammation existed.Conclusion The lamivudine-resisted DHBV could develope de novo chronic infection.
