The Spread of Modern Science From the West to China and the Chinese's Misunderstanding of Science

In the nineteenth century, when Chinese were faced with the national crisis, they bigan to study modern science from the West, and science was considered by Chinese as tools of national salvation and prosperity. Chinese keep this opinion up to now. But this opinion is some wrong. Science is the activities to seek for knowledge in the final analysis, through it can be tools of national salvation and prosperity. This misunderstanding of science hinders the development of China's science, especially in the area of the fundamental science.
