Abstract
In this paper, the protection effects of the sparse windbreaks and the influence of the sparse degree of windbreaks and the space between windbreaks are researched by combining the wind tunnel simulation and CFD method. The calculated results accord well with the actual data. The values of windbreak sparse degree and the spaces between the windbreaks are optimized based on the calculated and experimental results. The results reveal that the distribution of wind speed is significantly changed after the air current passes through windbreaks. The wind speed becomes low at the leeward side of windbreak, thus, the sand grains carried by air current begin to deposit. Therefore, the space between windbreaks should satisfy that the wind speed is controlled under the sand-raising wind speed so as to protect oases. The protection effects of windbreaks with the different sparse degrees and the different spaces between windbreaks are different, and the space between windbreaks is closely related to the sparse degree of windbreaks. The consumption of water resources should be also considered in defining the sparse degree of windbreaks.
