Abstract
This article introduces and reviews a new work on the history of probability entitled From Game Problems to a Subject of Mathematical Science and written by Xu Chuansheng in Chinese.Based on synthetical analyses of original materials, this treatise not only discusses the evolution of probability with great deal of space, but also pays more attention to the study of the integration of the probability with other subjects of mathematical science, and to the summarization of probability thoughts of great mathematicians and their educational values. As the first Chinese monograph of general history of probability, this book will play a very important role to push the research and popularization of the history of probability forward in China.
