Abstract

Objective: To study the effect and security of recombinant human growth hormone in idiopathic short stature(ISS) and growth hormone deficiency(GHD) in children.Method: Applying recombinant human growth hormone to treat ISS and GHD patients for 6 months and comparing all the children's growth blood sugar and thyroid function differences before and after treatment.Result: 64 cases of children with DGH,for growth and development aspects of index, namely height, body quality, growth rate and bone age after treatment increased than before, especially in the growth rate, the differences have statistical significance(P 0.05);After the treatment, blood sugar and thyroid function of DGH children were in the normal reference range, blood sugar and thyroid function have no significant difference(P 0.05);After treatment, the serum IGF-1 level of children DGH treatment didn't significantly increase than before(P 0.05).56 cases of children with ISS,for growth and development aspects of index, namely height, body quality, growth rate and bone age after treatment increased than before, especially in the growth rate, the differences have statistical significance(P 0.05);After the treatment, blood sugar and thyroid function of ISS children were in the normal reference range, blood sugar and thyroid function have no significant difference(P 0.05);After treatment, the serum IGF-1 level of children ISS treatment didn't significantly increased than before(P 0.05).Conclusion: The treatment of applying recombinant human growth hormone to children dwarfism is a safe and effective method.
