The Progress of Serological Test Detection and Its Application for Syphilis

Syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease caused by Treponema pallidum( TP) infection while the diagnosis of syphilis mainly is based on laboratory detection. Serology test is one of the important evidences to diagnose syphilis,which has important significance in diagnosis,treatment and research. In recent years,rapid,highly sensitive and specific detection methods of syphilis are improving with the development of immunology and molecular biology. This article has reviewed the current development and application of syphilis serology test in the world.
