Abstract
The traditional IPv4/IPv6 translation gateway based on Linux achieves the two-way connections between IPv4 and IPv6 by the combination of NAT-PT and DNS-ALG.The paper brings forward a scheme for improving the traditional IPv4/IPv6 translation gateway by means of separating the PT module from the NAT module and DNS-ALG.Several PT servers are placed in both IPv4 and IPv6 networks to divide up the processing task, which increases the processing speed of the whole translation gateway system and eases the bottleneck of the communication between IPv4 and IPv6 networks to a certain degree.
