Abstract

A modified Raney Ni catalyst is developed to make citronellol from citronellal by hydrogenation in a lower pressure. The conversion ratio of citronellal is more than 98%, the selectivity is more than 99%, the proper temperature of hydrogenation is 75℃,and the pressure is 2 MPa. The effects of the cocatalyst and its amount on the conversion ratio and the selelectivity were studied respectively. The corresponding technological conditions were gainted.
