Abstract
Objective To study the awareness of knowledge,attitude and practice of prevention and control for infectious diseases among school health-care workers in Beijing.Methods Totally,310 health-care workers at primary and secondary schools in four districts of Beijing participated in the survey during May 2006 and questionnaire was used to collect related information.Results Awareness of knowledge related to prevention and control for infectious diseases was limited among health-care workers of the schools,only about a half of them knew the definition of fever.They all could know the routes of transmission for several common infectious diseases,but only 67.42% of them could know the transmission route of hepatitis B.They,in general,thought that prevention and control for infectious diseases play an important role in maintaining a normal order for teaching work in the schools.More than 80 percent of them could keep the records of morning and noon examinations for disease and school absenteeism of students.Conclusion It is necessary to improve the disease prevention and control system in schools by training health-care workers and perfecting their work condition.
