Abstract
The characters of accumulation and tolerance of Pelargonium horlarum to Pb in the soil were investigated on the basis of pot experiment. The results showed that Pelargonium horlarum has greater tolerance to Pb.The dry weight was not decreased untill the Pb concentration was 1 000 mg/kg in soil. There was a low accumulation of Pb in Pelargonium horlarum. When the Pb concentration in soil was increased by 1 500 mg/kg,the Pb was accumulated by 169.5 mg/kg only. The plant content of Pb was lower than the hyperaccumulator critical content. The shoot'accumulation of Pb was significantly higher than that of root.Translocation factor of Pb is lesser than 0.5.The utilization ratio of the polluted soil could be increased with improvement of tolerance of the plant to Pb.
