Abstract

Objective:To explore the clinical effect of pepsinogen-Ⅰ(PG-Ⅰ),pepsinogen-Ⅱ(PG-Ⅱ) and PG-Ⅰ/PG-Ⅱ in serum of patients with chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG).Methods:The levels of PG-Ⅰ and PG -Ⅱ in serum of 196 cases of CAG and 35 cases of normal controls were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Results:The serum PG-Ⅰ levels of CAG group of patients were lower notable compared with that of the normal control group and with significant difference(P0.05).The levels of PG-Ⅰ in serum of patients with CAG were decreased remarkably alone with disease progression and among the three groups of CAG with significant differences(P0.05).PG-Ⅰ/PG-Ⅱ ratio changes with levels of serum PG-Ⅰ were positively correlated. The serum PG-Ⅱ levels of patients with CAG slightly higher than the normal control group and with no significant difference(P0.05).The levels of serum PG-Ⅰ,PG-Ⅱ and PG-Ⅰ/PG-Ⅱ ratio in patients with CAG of helicobacter pylori(Hp)-positive and Hp-negative group were roughly consistent and with no significant differense(P0.05).Conclusion:The decreasing of PG-Ⅰ in serum and the ratio of PG-Ⅰ/PG-Ⅱ are a better serological markers suitable for population screening and endoscopy contraindications.
