Abstract
The ultrastructure of testis of F 1 hybrids between Carassius auratus♀)and Cyprinus carpio(♂) was observed.Three types of gonads were formed in F 1 male individuals. The first could produce normal spermatozoa, although there were abnormally developed spermatozoa, such as largehead sperm (binucleate sperm and gaint sperm),duplicatehead sperm and twotail sperm. The second type of gonad was partially developed, with only a few of the spermatids going through spermeiogenesis to form spermatozoa. Most of the spermatogenic cells were abnormal and characterized by the condensation of nuclear material and unequal separation of chromosomes. The third, consisting of hermaphrodite and nonhermaphrodite, was sterile.
