Abstract
The montmorillonite and kaolinite as adsorbents were studied on the selective adsorption of Cu2+,Pb2+,Zn2+.The result showed that the adsorption capacities of the two clays for the three heavy metals were found to be in order of montmorillonite kaolinite. The adsorption capacities of heavy metals on clays increased with the increasing of pH values. In the condition of pH4 and 25 ℃,adsorption capacities of montmorillonite and kaolinite for different heavy metal ions were both in order of Pb2+Cu2+Zn2+.Through the isotherms fitted with different models,it was evidenced that montmorillonite had excellent adsorptive selectivity to heavy metal ions.
