Abstract
Objectives To discuss the Clinical Value of a self-designed 'fish-like’probe on lacrimal duct intubation. Methods Patients (51 eyes) with simplex chronicus nasolacrimal duct obstruction、19 eyes with lacrimal duct obstruction and 3 eyes with acute dacryocystitis were treated with silicone tube catheterized by using of a self-designed 'fish-like’ probe combined with tube introducer, and were followed up for 6~18 months. Results epiphora didn't occurred in 67 of 73 eyes, and lacrimal duct were unobstructed;epiphora occurred in 6 of 73 eyes, and lacrimal duct were insufficiently unobstructed.Average operation time of simplex chronicus nasolacrimal duct obstruction was 3 min.the majority had no obvious epistaxis after the operation. Conclusions It is a safe、effective、convenient and rapid therapeutic means to treat nasolacrimal duct obstruction by using the self-designed 'fish-like’ probe and tube introducer without nasal endoscopy、head mirror.Furthermore the treatment of acute dacryocystitis by using the same also has satisfactory effect.
