Analysis of intellectual impairment due to brain injury and its related factors

Abstract
Objective:To explore the influential factors on intellectual impairment due to brain injury.Method:Intellectual impairment cases caused by brain injury assessed in our hospital during January-December of 2009 were retrospectively analyzed.Results:Of 162 intellectual impairment cases due to brain injury,136 cases had mild or moderate intellectual impairments.The intellectual impairments were correlated with coma duration,degree of brain injury,electroen cephalograph,age and operative time.Conclusion:Mild or moderate intellectual impairment is more common among the intellectual impairments due to brain injury caused by traffic accidents
