Devaluation and Government Storing:Reasons of Currency Scarce in the North-Song Dynasty

Abstract
Currency Scarce is the shortage of money in circulation.It was normally believed that the reason of the Currency Scarce of Song Dynasty was related to the storing,destroying and out-flowing of the copper money. This paper holds that the reason lies in devaluation of the price of the copper money.And government storing had accelerated the copper money to quit the circulation field,which was also an important reason for the Currency Scarce.
