Abstract
In order to explore the induction of barnyardgrass(Echinochloa crusgalli L.)on rice allelopathy, the extracts of barnyardgrass seed, tissue and their culture solutions were used as inductive additives in culture solution of allelopathic rice accession PI312777 and non allelopathic rice accession Lemont.Inductive effect was evaluated by bioassay of aqueous extracts of two rice leaves. The results showed that the barnyardgrass culture solutions had the most inductive effects on rice allelopathy.Compared with the non-induced treatment, root length, plant height and dry weight of barnyardgrass was decreased by 0.85 cm,0.56 cm and 0.006 0 g,while no allelopathic rice Lemont was decreased by 0.69 cm,0.68 cm and 0.007 9 g.The root length and plant height of two rice accessions were increased significantly after addition of barnyardgrass culture solutions. The results indicated that increase of rice allelopathy by inductive additives would be an alternative for weed integrate management.
