Concept and Requirement for Defence in Modern Basketball

Abstract

In order to improve the training level of man and woman basketball teams, and have deeper understanding of basketball, especially of the defense theory, the methods of literature review, statistics, logical analysis and expert interview about the 14th Basketball Champion and Asian Games have been adopted in this paper. The results are that the defense theories of modern basketball are offensive, initiative, prescient, collective, flexible and dour. The nine basic requirements for defense have been proposed.
