Abstract

Recombinant human growth hormone(GH) therapy has a certain therapeutic effect for children with idiopathic short stature (ISS), but its effect on final height (FH) is still uncertain. This article reviewed progress in study on effects of growth hormone therapy on bone metabolism,circadian osteocalcin rhythms of prepubertal children with idiopathic short stature, metabolic consequences of growth hormone and psychological effect on boys with short stature.
