Abstract
Based on stochastic theory, the paper made a detailed analysis of sediment process in a river that took sedimentation and erosion into separate consideration to avoid the uncertain issue of and, thus provided a good way to solve the problem of sediment exchange near bed.And then the stochastic mathematics model of sediment transport has been developed, which is proved to be qualitatively reasonable through the computing application of reservoir sedimentation, sink scouring and common river erosion and disposition. This treatment model not only introduces the stochastic treatment and offers the answer in terms of probability theory to the complexity of sediment calculation, but also can compare with the deterministic approach of traditional water and sediment dynamics to improve the rationality and accuracy of river sediment numerical simulation.
