Abstract
To explore the effect of exogenous H2O2 on antioxidant enzymes and other physiological indexes of wheat seedlings under lead stress, wheat seedlings cultivated in solution with different concentration of H2O2 were used to observe the variation of activity of peroxidase(POD),superoxide dismutase(SOD),catalase(CAT) and content of malondialdehyde(MDA),root activity and micronucleus rate. The results showed that wheat seedlings were chronically harmed under heavy metal stress,as vigor of wheat seedling root decreased;POD,SOD,CAT activity and MDA content, micronucleus rate increased. After being treated by H2O2 with appropriate concentration,POD,SOD,CAT activity, root vigor increased while MDA content and micronucleus rate decreased in wheat seedlings under lead stress compared to control, indicating that exogenous H2O2 could reduce the damage caused by lead stress.
