Abstract

Chronic heart failure(CHF) is a structural or functional disease of the heart caused by poor ventricular filling and/or ejection ability.Studies have shown that the main physiology and pathology of CHF is myocardial fibrosis.Connective tissue growth factor(CTGF) plays an important role in the development and occurrence of myocardial tissue fibrosis. Therefore research has been done to show CTGF's role in CHF.This article reviews progress made in research focused on CTGF mediated myocardial fibrosis in CHF.
