Abstract
To analyze the snow and ice cover change in Manasi river basin for the regional water resource assignment in the condition of climate change,normalization difference snow index(NDSI)method has been used to obtain the snow and ice cover areas in this basin.Through analyzing its change characteristic from 1998 to 2006,the result shows that the annual changes of elevation in snow and ice cover areas in Manasi basin have an increasing trend.At the same time,the cover areas are decreasing at 8km~2 every year.Also,there is a remarkable positive correlation relationship between the cover areas of snow and ice and the temperature,but there is a remarkable negative correlation relationship between the cover areas and the rainfall.
