Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical features,therapeutic methods and outcomes of cornea and sclera foreign body of chestnut thorns. Methods The cornea and sclera foreigh bodies(chestnut thorns)in 71 cases(71 eyes)were taken out under slit-lamp microscope or with a surgical incision of the eye. Results the chestnuts thorns were taken out in one operation in 32 cases,in two operations in 13 cases,in three operations in 22 cases and in 4 operations in 14 cases.There was no eye infection or eye-sight change. Conclusion Cornea and sclera foreign body of chestnut thorns are in great number and were difficult to be found,Appropriate methods to take them out thoroughly is the key to achiving successful treatments.
