Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical effect of the percutaneous vertebroplasty in the treatment of vertebral body myeloma. Methods Percutaneous vertebroplasty were performed in 9 patients(15 vertebras) whom had vertebral body myeloma and operation efficacy is assessed by WHO standard. Results All patients in this group were punctured successfully,2 cases were found bone cement leaked on lateral and anterior,1 case were found a few bone cement leaked in veniplex of canalis spinalis,1 case was found bone cement leaked in intervertebral disk,except 1 case feel pain occasionally,the other patients without discomfort symptoms,all patients were followed up for 6 to 42 months,all patients feel pain remission and improve after 1 week,clinical effect was stable in follow up period. Conclusion Percutaneous vertebroplasty in the treatment of vertebral body myeloma can ease pain rapidly and persistently,that increase intensity of vertebral body,it not only increase spinal column stability but also it is a security,effectively,simple minimally invasive treatment way.
