Abstract

Dynamic Triaxial test is a common method to test soil damping in laboratory.Dynamic Triaxial has been widely applied to research on soil dynamic characteristics in geotechnical engineering. Many scholar use Dynamic Triaxial instrument to test soil samples from different places, obtainning a lot of important datum and drawing a large number of important conclusion, which plays an important role in seismic engineering. In this paper,we will analyze and evaluate the existing Dynamic Triaxial test results on damping ratio of soils. On this foundation,it sum up some influence factors on damping ratio of soil, such as,with the increase of the moisture content and strain, and the decrease of the load frequency, the soil damping ratio increase. It point out the deficiencies of current research achievements.
