Analysis of the Impact of Service Factors on Dropout from Methadone Maintenance Treatment among Drug Addicts

[Objective]To explore the impact of service factors on dropout from methadone maintenance treatment among drug accicts,to provide a reference for intervention measures.[Methods]All drug addicts treated in 2 clinics of methadone maintenance treatment of Donghu and Xihu district in Nanchang from September 6,2006 to October 8,2007 were investigated from October to December 2007,Cox regression model analysis was carried out.[Results]705 patients treated with methadone maintenance were investigated,171 of them were droped out of the treatment,accounting for 24.26%.Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that the higher of the satisfaction level of methadone maintenance treatment was,the less chance of the dropout was.The main cause of dropout was lack of strict management system.[Conclusion]Dropout rate was not high in 2 methadone maintenance treatment clinics in Nanchang city.The main causes of dropout were not satisfied with the treatment and management system.
