Abstract
Legendre moments have been successfully used in pattern recognition and image analysis. However, due to its complexity, there exist few fast algorithms for computing Legendre moments, which limits its application. In this paper, some properties of Legendre polynomials have been investigated, they permit us to reduce significantly the computational complexity in the calculation of Legendre moments.
