Abstract

When the foundation depth is below the underground water level,quicksand may happen during the foundation ditch excavation.This paper introduces the mechanism of the forming of the quicksand and the influence of the quicksand on the foundation ditch excavation,and puts forward the man-made rainfall methods to prevent and harness the quicksand,and also proves that this method is feasible by design and calculation.
