The industrial upgrading features and its influencing factors in the less developed regions: the case of Shaoguan,Guangdong Province

Abstract
Upgrading the industrial structure is an important indicator of economic development in less developed regions. With the analytical methods of More,the average annual change of the industrial structure,industrial structure ahead of the coefficient,the degree of deviation of industrial structure and comparative labor productivity,the characteristics of industrial structure in Shaoguan are judged,the correlation and regression factors analysis are used with the explanatory variable of More,explanatory variables from the factor endowment conditions,industrial base,the cluster( poly) status,innovation and value chain links,five categories of 28 impact factors. In terms of the overall performance the industrial structure in Shaoguan is on the development trend of high-class upgrade,and presents the basic characteristics of the resource processing,traditional manufacturing industries as the main direction of upgrade. The labor and foreign direct investment( FDI) are the main driving factor for industrial upgrading,as well as industrial added value of energy consumption,unit GDP energy consumption rate of industrial upgrading has a strong correlation.
